Here is an accumulation of news and spoilers relating to the 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2013.

  • There will be a 76-minute special called The Day of the Doctor airing on November 23rd
    • Filming began on April 2nd, read-through on April 1st, concluded on May 5th
    • Starring Matt Smith and David Tennant as the Doctor, Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara Oswald, Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Ingrid Oliver as Osgood (UNIT's new scientific adviser), Joanna Page as Queen Elizabeth I, and John Hurt as the War Doctor

  • There will be additional minisodes called The Night of the Doctor and The Last Day
    • The Night of the Doctor will be broadcast continuously on Red Button from 7:30 to 10pm on Nov. 16th
      • Synopsis: "The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in the mini episode, The Night of the Doctor. But which?"

    • The Last Day was released on November 19th
  • BBC America is producing a series of 11 specials entitled Doctors Revisited about each Doctor 
    • 1 half hour special each month looking back on a different Doctor
    • Special airing of a selected episode following the special 
    • Aired towards the end of each month

    • Will also be broadcast on Watch starting in October
  • Professor Brian Cox will be giving a lecture on BBC2 about the science of Doctor Who
    • Nov. 14th at 9pm on BBC2
    • Takes place in the lecture hall of the Royal Institute of Great Britain

  • BBC Four will be airing the first-ever Doctor Who story, An Unearthly Child
    • Episodes will be a restored format
    • Not previously broadcast in the United Kingdom
    • 10:30pm on November 21st
  • 12 Again will be hosting various stars from the show on CBBC
    • Guests include Chris Johnson, Jon Culshaw, Tommy Knight, Warwick Davis, Neve McIntosh, Dan Starkey, Louise Jameson, and Sylvester McCoy
  • Blue Peter will be allowing children to design a new gadget to appear on the show
    • Must be between ages 6 and 14
    • There will also be two live specials featuring Matt Smith and monsters from the show

  • The Culture Show (an arts show on BBC2) will have an episode called Me, You, and Doctor Who

  • Radio 2 will have an 90-minute documentary titled Who Is the Doctor?

    • Explores the appeal of the show and how much of its success can be attributed to its basic formula 
    • Features new interviews and archive material 
  • David Quantick will host The Blagger's Guide to Doctor Who 
    • Nov. 21st at 11:30pm on Radio 2
    • A look back at the show and some secrets about it
    • Various myths about the show will be debunked, as well
  • Radio 4 Extra will air readings of stories featuring the Doctor and friends

  • Graham Norton will broadcast his weekly show from the Doctor Who Celebration (see below)

    • Graham will get to ride in the TARDIS and interview stars from the show
    • Three hours long
  • Radio 1 will air a 60-minute documentary on the Trock music genre 
  • BBC Three will be airing Doctor Who Live: The Afterparty directly after The Day of the Doctor
    • Hosted by Zoe Ball and Rick Edwards
    • Guests include Matt Smith, One Direction, and other Doctors and companions
    • Will include interviews, clips, and fan reactions to the 50th anniversary
  • Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide will introduce newer fans to the show
    • Nov. 18th at 8pm on BBC3
    • Matt and Jenna will host a look back at some of the show's greatest moments and people
  • BBC 3 will be showing Doctor Who: Monsters and Villains Weekend in November
    • People can currently vote on the BBC website to decide who the ultimate villain is
    • Results will be shown on television in three parts on BBC3 hosted by Joel Dammett
      • Part 1 (Nov. 15th at 7:05pm): Monsters 10-7
      • Part 2 (Nov. 16th at 8pm): Monsters 6-4
      • Part 3 (Nov. 17th at 7:30pm): Monsters 3-1
  • Radio 4 Extra will broadcast a special called Who Made Who?
    • Three hours long
    • Will explore the 1960s world that created Doctor Who 
  • UKTV is showing episodes of Doctor Who every Sunday, featuring a different Doctor each month  
  • Puffin Books is releasing a series of 11 short stories featuring each Doctor
    • Each written by a different children's author
    • Released electronically on the 23rd of each month

  • BBC is also producing a docudrama entitled An Adventure in Space and Time
    • Will air on BBC2
    • Written by Mark Gatiss, produced by Steven Moffat and Caroline Skinner, directed by Terry McDonough

  • Big Finish is going to release a multi-Doctor story entitled The Light at the End
    • Stars Doctors 4-8, Leela, Nyssa, Peri, Ace, and Charley Pollard
    • 100 minutes long
    • Three versions: collector's edition, regular, and vinyl 
    • Released October 23rd
  • Big Finish and AudioGO are teaming up to produce a series of stories entitled Destiny of the Doctors
    • One story each month featuring a different Doctor
    • Some sort of story arc

  • The Doctor Who 50th Celebration Weekend convention is being held at ExCeL in London
    • Takes place from Friday, November 22nd, until Sunday
    • The anniversary special will be screened there
